Hello everybody,
well the day we have to stop living upside down has finally arrived, and on behalf of the group, I can say that we are all sad to leave behind this fantastic country & amazing experience. we fly out of Sydney airport tonight, which gives us the morning free to stroll around Marrickville or to pack!
unusually all of the boys packed last night & are completely ready to leave!! the girls room I have to say is not as organised!! (we took pictures of the mess!) With Davids help, Sherina, Therese & I packed our bags last night & are ready 2 go (he can really fit so much into one suitcase!!) all this packing preceeded a late night by all in the tent, after which I think a good sleep on the plane will be required!!
we have to be out of the school by 9:30am, so I’m going to have breakie & soak up the last few hours of blistering sunshine!!
we will see you all at the airport on wednesday, so until then,
Goodbye from Down Under, Ciara

TO: David, Sherina, Ciara, John, Matthew, Niall, John, Jessica, Áine, Clare, Nuala, Alice, Dervla, Gráinne, Kenneth & Thérèse: Your words in the blog and the stories of your journey have brought the trip to life so much so and with such energy that believe it or not, although looking forward so much to seeing you on Wednesday afternoon in the airport on your return, I also feel a sense of sadness that your trip has come to an end. But the memories will live on. From day one, you were a wonderful group to work with and when your names first went on the list in February 2007, I could never have imagined that it would turn out this well. All of you, young people and leaders, have a new place in our hearts and this summer will live as much in the hearts of those of us here as it will live in your hearts and your memories.
Travel safe.
Gerard. (“17th Pilgrim”)

To all of you, I think that reading the blog will make us all here at home feel that the effort and support to get you there has been worthwhile, and we want to say thanks to you as well for going all that way on your pilgrim journey and doing us and yourselves proud, for representing the parish as you have done, and for establishing those links and friendships in the Passionist Family and in the Worldwide Family of the Church that can only bear fruit for all of us into the future. Thank you so much. Welcome Home! FF
